It all started back in 2012 when original owner, Sandi Resheske had a dream of opening a western store. She found the perfect location but she was still not sure what to call the business. She called her daughter, Kelly to share the news that she had found a building to lease. When asked where this building was, Sandi looked up and realized it was just west of Texas Street in Redlands. A wa-la! The name West of Texas was born.

Over the next 12 years, Sandi grew the business and it quickly evolved into a charming, unique place to visit. A place you could find Wrangler jeans, Ariat boots, and vintage Native American jewelry.

Sandi and her daughter Kelly began to collaborate more as the business grew. She showed her daughter the insider tricks to running a business. Eventually, Sandi made the difficult decision to retire and sell the business to Kelly.

April 2024, Kelly and her family have taken over ownership. It has the same foundational style and charm, but with an updated twist. And if one is lucky, you'll even run into Sandi from time to time helping out at the store.
